The issue that you may have is the pulley bearing seized up and may have spun on the front of the compressor nose cone and will damage it.
If the rotorpulley does not slide on easily check the compressor nose for nicks or burrs and remove. The bearing can be hard to remove because the steel bearing in contact with the aluminum frame will cause a dissimilar metal weld. Compress the serpentine belt tensioner with the serpentine belt removal tool and slide the belt off of the AC compressor pulley. Im currently trying to do the same on my 2008 MDX which seems very similar.
